OPEN SHOW 12TH OCTOBER 2008

The October Open Show was held on 12th October 2008 at the Nissan Sports and Social Club, Washington, Co. Durham.  The judges for this event were

Dogs  Mr R. Grice (Janaray) and Bitches  Mrs L. Whittington (Tighness).  This excellent venue with its very large floor space seemed to be only partly filled for this show.  When the entry in the catalogue was compared to the actual dogs present for exhibition the reason for this became quite obvious.  There were a very large number of absentees.  There seemed to be no obvious reason for this. 

Mr Grice chose as his  BEST DOG    Mrs H.D. Scott's DEGALLO THE REAL DEAL J.W. (Rannerdale the Time warp x Degallo Look At Me J.W.) with his RESERVE being  Mr and Mrs Crossley's SHELEENA SEABISCUIT  (Rowancrest Royal Ransom at Sheleena x Elanmore Gold Touch).  The BEST PUPPY DOG was  Mrs Whitchurch's EMMAVIEW FIRECRACKER (Emmaview Gold Dollar x Emmaview Chelsea).

Mrs Whittington chose as her  BEST BITCH  Mrs Joyce Miles's Ch ELJETIA CRYSTAL QUEEN (Shelridge Socrates x Ch Milesend Storm Queen), with her RESERVE  being Mrs Kathleen Cooper's Ch BLENMERROW MELVEEN MONA LISA (Blenmerrow Barnaby x Ch Blenmerrow River of Dreams at Melveen). The BEST PUPPY BITCH    was Mrs K. Hateley's tricolour puppy MOHNESEE SPELLBINDING (Mohnesee Mr Palmer x Mohnesee Magic Spells)

When it came to the Challenges for BEST IN SHOW the services of the REFEREE (Mrs A Latimer) had to be called upon and she chose Mrs Miles's Ch ELJITIA  CRYSTAL QUEEN, leaving Mrs H.D. Scott's DEGALLO THE REAL DEAL as the BEST OPPOSITE SEX.   The RESERVE BEST IN SHOW  went to Mrs Kathleen Cooper's Ch BLENMERROW MELVEEN MONA LISA .  The judges agreed on the BEST PUPPY IN SHOW and this was awarded to  Mrs Whitchurch's EMMAVIEW FIRECRACKER  whilst the BEST VETERAN award also went to Mrs Kathleen Cooper's Ch BLENMERROW MELVEEN MONA LISA .
