OCTOBER OPEN SHOW 2010

The October Open show was held on the 17th October 2010 and the venue was the usual one of Wreay Village Hall, near Carlisle, in Cumbria. The weather this year was fine and cold with a touch of frost in some places. The venue was in pristine order for the show and the catering was carried out by the N.C.S.S.C. committee as usual and, as would be expected, it was upto the usual high standard. The bacon sandwiches which were available from the show opening  were especially welcome.

Our Judge this year was Mr Dave Rule (Bleatarn).  He must have been quite disappointed when several of his dog classes had no entries, but overall the entries for the show were only a little lower than might have been expected with 80 dogs making 125 entries. This seems to reflect a general tendency these days as exhibitors  take a very serious review of the costs of exhibiting.

Mr Rule was very thorough in his examination of the the dogs under him and after very careful consideration he made the following awards:-
